Tubing
Tubing is the critical component of any peristaltic pump. Diameter, wall thickness, and material are very important factors in selecting tubing. AccuStaltic pumps are designed to work with many sizes and brands of tubing. This allows AccuStaltic pumps to use a large variety of tubes for many situations.
Tubing Mechanical Properties
- Inside Diameter: Determines pump displacement
- Wall Thickness: Determines suction and pressure capability
- Tubing Wear and Stretch
Fluid Properties
- Chemical Resistance: How the tube is affected by chemicals
- Contamination-Free Grade: Whether the tube is approved for special fluids such as food and drugs

Inside Diameter:
The displacement of a peristaltic pump is determined by the inside diameter of the tube. AccuStaltic pumps are designed for diameters of 1/8 to 1/2 inch tubing giving a displacement of 1.5 ml/rev to 21.7 ml/rev on a single channel.
Wall Thickness:
AccuStaltic pumps are true positive displacement pumps with fixed occlusion. To handle different wall thickness they are made with 3 sizes of interchangeable rotors. Each rotor can handle any tube ID up to 3/4" that has the correct wall thickness.
Tubing Wear and Stretch:
AccuStaltic pumps are designed to compensate for the natural wear and stretching that all peristaltic tubing experience. This exclusive design allows continuous operation without readjusting the tubes between normal tube change intervals.
Chemical Resistance:
One of the primary reasons to choose a peristaltic pump is its ability to handle difficult fluids. Tubing can be selected to resist very aggressive chemicals. AccuStaltic pumps can use many types and brandS of peristaltic tubing, allowing the proper selection of cost, durability, and chemical resistance. Ledebuhr Industries offers several standard tubes but many special types may be ordered though us or other sources. The tubing manufacturers provide compatibility charts for many common chemicals.
Contamination-Free Grade:
While peristaltic pumps are perfect for preventing contamination to the pump, they also protect the fluid from contamination. For applications such as food processing, FDA-approved food grade tubes are available.
